I love it, Michelle--both aesthetically and content-wise--and I am so very tickled to be included! Thank you for publishing such a tantalizing combination platter. Rah rah rah!

Here's what I just posted about it on my blog, CandyDishDoom:

HOT FRESH NEW POETRY!
“What would happen if we heard each other, heard the truth in each word, standing in unity, in a state of equanimity? What would we fear standing alone with incorrect prepositional phrases, if we did not fear each other’s perfect imperfections, while we climbed, bound by bone, fastened to flesh?”

So begins the poetic content of WOMB, Volume 1—a new magazine of female poetries—with words from recently-deceased poet Kari Edwards, to whose memory the issue is dedicated.

Hives & Covens is the subtitle of this delicious issue, which features a diverse and juicy multitude of women’s voices, many of which are ever so succulent, provocative, interesting, thought-provoking, confrontational, sweet, spicy, sassy, quirky, and so much more.

Certainly, there are some pieces that are not my style/not to my liking—but many of the pieces are wonderful—and I am quite pleased and delighted to be among them. Two of my poems appear within this yummy collection and I am in fine company, with such notable poets as Barbara Jane Reyes, Kristy Bowen, Amy King, and many more, including quite a few writers whom I had not heard of before, but was ever so pleased to make their acquaintances.

Indeed, one of my favorite poems in the issue was a selection by a writer who I was heretofore unacquainted with—Michele Miller. I enjoyed all four of her poems, but especially loved ‘HIVE’.

I also particularly liked and/or was interested by the material of Priscilla Atkins, Elizabeth Treadwell, Susan B.A. Somers-Willet, and Holaday Mason, none of whom I was previously familiar with either. Hurrah for meeting new poets!

Kathryn Miller’s art piqued my interest, too. Kristy Bowen’s work is almost always my idea of a luxurious treat. And the idiosyncratic zeitgeist of Amy King’s poetry appealed to me, also. Definitely lots of worthwhile reading to engage different kinds of taste buds in WOMB, so take a lick for yourself:
